Now that I know my child needs support, I feel it’s better to wait and allow them to develop speech and other skills naturally. At this stage, I’m not too worried.

It’s natural to want to give your child time to grow and develop at their own pace, and many parents feel this way. Early intervention isn’t about suggesting something is 'wrong', it’s simply an opportunity to give your child an extra boost to help them reach their full potential. Our focus is on celebrating your child’s strengths while identifying areas where they might need a little extra support. If you’re open to it, we can keep track of your child’s progress together and provide support only if it’s genuinely needed.

Are there any tests that can confirm what you’re saying about my child?

Yes, there are assessments and evaluations designed to better understand your child’s developmental strengths and areas where they might need support. These include standardized tests, developmental checklists, and observations by trained professionals. These tools aren’t about labeling your child but rather providing valuable insights to guide their growth. We can walk you through the process and recommend assessments tailored to your child’s needs. The focus is not just on addressing concerns but on understanding how best to help your child thrive.

Know more about what we assess.

How can you term something as a ‘delay’ when every child is thought to be different?

That’s a great question, and you’re absolutely right. Every child is unique and grows at their own pace. When we use the term 'delay,' it’s not about comparing your child to others. Instead, it’s a way to identify areas where they might need support to reach a few growth milestones. Think of it as a guide to better understand your child’s individual journey.

Is there something unusual about my child’s brain? Could I be responsible in any way?

I can imagine how worried you might feel, and I want you to know—this is not your fault. Neurodivergence or developmental delays arise from complex factors, often beyond anyone’s control. What truly matters is your love and care, which play such a powerful role in your child’s journey. If your child needs support in certain areas, identifying those needs early allows us to give them the best chance to thrive. Let’s work together to create a nurturing and supportive environment where your child can grow and reach their full potential.

Is neurodivergence or developmental delay considered a disease? Can it be treated or cured?

Neurodivergence or developmental differences are not diseases, they are natural variations in how a child’s brain develops and functions. They don’t need to be 'cured', instead, they need to be understood. Every child has unique strengths and needs, and with the right guidance and interventions, many children overcome challenges and unlock their full potential. If you have any concerns, we’re here to work with you every step of the way.

Will my child ever be like other children?

Every child is wonderfully unique, and the idea of 'normal' doesn’t truly capture the beauty of individuality. Your child has their own astonishing ways of experiencing the world. With the right support, they can flourish and achieve incredible things, even if their journey looks a little different. Our focus is on helping them reach their full potential while celebrating everything that makes them special.

Is it possible for my child to attend a mainstream school?

Absolutely! Many children with developmental differences or neurodivergence thrive in mainstream schools with the right support. Advanced therapies can help your child build the skills they need to succeed academically and socially. Partnering with the school to meet their unique needs ensures they have the tools and environment to flourish. Together, we can explore the best options to support your child’s growth and education.

What is therapy? Is is the support my child needs?

Yes! Intervention or therapy is a thoughtful and supportive approach designed to help your child grow in areas like communication, motor skills, social interactions, or sensory processing. It’s about creating a safe and nurturing environment where your child can learn, build confidence, and thrive. Therapy isn’t just about the sessions, it’s a partnership. As parents, you play an important role, and we’ll provide you with practical strategies to use at home, so that your child has the support they need.

How long will therapy be necessary for my child?

The length of therapy depends on your child’s unique needs, goals, and the progress they make along the way. Some children may only need support for a few months, while others might benefit from ongoing therapy. We’ll regularly evaluate their progress and adjust the plan to ensure they’re getting the right support for as long as it’s needed.

I prefer therapy at home since it’s challenging to visit the intervention center on weekdays. Is it necessary to have sessions at the center?

We understand that visiting the center on weekdays can be challenging, and we want to make therapy as convenient as possible for you and your child. While in-center sessions provide a controlled environment with specialized equipment and resources, we can explore flexible options like home-based therapy or a hybrid model where sessions are conducted both at home and in the center. The key is ensuring your child receives consistent support, so we can work together to find the best arrangement that suits your family’s needs while maintaining the effectiveness of the therapy.

Just explain the therapies to me, and I’ll handle them myself at home.

Your commitment to your child’s growth is truly inspiring. While it’s possible to practice many therapeutic activities at home, therapy goes beyond exercises—it’s about understanding your child’s unique needs, designing a structured plan, and adapting it as they progress. Therapists bring specialized skills and experience to find the best strategies and apply them effectively. That said, we’d be happy to guide you with simple activities you can do at home, while working together to create a comprehensive plan. It’s all about teamwork to support your child’s journey to thrive!

What could happen if I choose to skip therapy?

Skipping therapy means missing the opportunity to address your child’s challenges early, which can make it harder for them to catch up later. Early intervention is crucial because it builds foundational skills during a critical period of development. Without support, your child may struggle with certain areas, such as communication, motor skills, or social interaction, which could impact their confidence and overall growth. That said, it’s never too late to start. If you have concerns, we’re here to guide you and provide flexible options to support your child’s progress.

I can hire a freelance therapist to come to my home at my convenience. Why should I come to a center and work with an organization like yours?

Hiring a freelance therapist can be convenient, but working with an organization like ours provides a greater level of reliability, consistency, and accountability. Your child benefits from a multidisciplinary approach, with a team of experts collaborating to refine their therapy plan, conduct assessments, and monitor progress. Therapy in a community setting also offers unique advantages, such as peer interaction, which is essential for building social and communication skills. Group therapy, a key part of our programs, helps children learn and grow together in a supportive environment. Home-only sessions may miss out on these valuable opportunities that are crucial for your child’s overall development.

Should we consult a specialist? If so, which one?

If you’re considering seeing a doctor, a developmental pediatrician would be the ideal specialist to evaluate your child’s developmental progress. They have expertise in understanding developmental milestones and can provide a detailed assessment. Depending on your child’s needs, they might also refer you to other specialists, such as a pediatric neurologist, child psychologist, or speech and occupational therapists. If you’d like, we can help guide you on the right steps and suggest specialists to consult. It’s all about finding the right support for your child.
